Global Skyscraper Day
September 3 · Level 8 · #462 of 2238

Global Skyscraper Day honours tall-building architecture and the people who design and build it. It is observed on 3 September, the birthday of the American architect Louis Sullivan.
How it is celebrated: city fans head up to observation decks, join tours of famous towers and photograph skylines. Architects and students swap notes on new designs and look back at how tall buildings have evolved.
Louis Sullivan was born in 1856 and is often called a father of the skyscraper. He is also remembered for the maxim that form ever follows function.
