Evolution Day
November 24 · Level 8 · #463 of 2238

This day recalls the publication of Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species on 24 November 1859. Its idea of natural selection changed how people think about life on Earth.
How it is celebrated: schools, museums and science clubs hold talks and debates, and biology fans reread Darwin or look for clever adaptations in the plants and animals around them.
The first print run was 1,250 copies, and the whole lot was snapped up by booksellers on the first day of sales.
